Debut is building an entirely new kind of bank designed to help Kiwis grow their money and get ahead of inflation. As we prepare to launch, we’ve asked the community to share what they’d most like to see on our upcoming bank card. The community has voted, and we’re ready to announce the finalists and our Finalists Event!

Wooden Card by Tim Avni

Tim Avni wants to see a Debut bank card made from wood.

A wooden bank card coated in epoxy. A percentage of each card cost is donated toward reforestation projects.

Joey Green wants to see a bank card representing New Zealand wildlife and nature on recycled plastic.

A series of vibrant coastal scenes depicting NZ flora and fauna on cards made from recovered ocean plastic.

Braille on Cards by David Harvey

David Harvey wants to feel Braille and shaped edges to distinguish the Debut bank card from others.

A more tactile card with raised lettering and Braille to make it easier for people with limited vision or blindness to identify among other cards. A notch or shape to indicate which side to insert into POS readers.

A premium-feel metal card to cut down on plastic. Card can be blank so that details like card number, expiration and security code can be updated in the Debut app.
