  • Tap on "Add Money": You'll find this under your Cash Balance.
  • Choose "Online Bank Transfer": Choose this option to initiate an instant transfer.
  • Set Amount: Set how much money you would like to transfer.
  • Follow the instructions: Debut uses the secure payment network Windcave, so you'll be prompted to log in to your existing bank account.
  • Confirm the amount: Double-check the amount you want to transfer and finalise the process.
  • Done! Your funds should appear in your Debut account right away.

Questions and answers

Why do I need to log in to my bank, and is this safe?

We use the Account2Account service from Windcave to facilitate instant transfers. Windcave is a secure and trusted payment provider. Your session in Windcave is encrypted, ensuring that not even Debut can see or access any of the information there. The transfer process is designed with your security in mind, allowing you to set the amount you’d like to transfer before logging in and then authenticating the transaction. This ensures the utmost security for your transactions, giving you peace of mind.

2. Manual bank transfer

This method can take a bit longer, but it's still straightforward:

  • Log in to your existing bank's website or app: Access your bank's online platform.
  • Start a new bank transfer: Look for options like "Pay someone new" or "Make a transfer."
  • Enter Debut's account details: You'll find these details in Debut when you tap on Add Money > Manual Bank Transfer. Make sure to enter them exactly as shown to avoid delays or errors.
  • Enter the amount: Specify how much you want to transfer.
  • Confirm and initiate: Review the details one last time and confirm the transfer.
  • Be patient: Manual transfers can take anywhere from an hour to two business days, depending on your bank's processing times.

Important Note: Always double-check the account details when making a manual transfer to ensure your money goes to the right place!

Questions and answers

Can I use the manual transfer top-up details to receive money from other accounts?

We’re always looking for ways to balance security on our platform with ultimate user flexibility. You can only complete a manual transfer from one external account you own. The account must have the same name you used to register for Debut. This means transfers from other people to these account details won’t work. These measures are part of our strict approach to anti-fraud and anti-money laundering practices. You can transfer money back to your original bank account, make payments using your cards or send money securely to another friend on Debut.
