Kia ora anō! Welcome back, friends! Maybe it’s just the sunstroke talking, but we’re all really chuffed to see you again. It’s already a few weeks into the New Year, so since we haven’t spoken for a while, I hope you had a looooovley holiday and that you have a gorgeous and happy 2024. 🎉
This week, we hung our togs to dry and picked up our tools (along with some dry pants). The team is ready and excited to get stuck into the next phase of building next-gen banking. (Whoo!)
First impressions 🤳
In December, we invited a few people already close to Debut to give us their first impressions of the app. There were a couple of things in there that were still rough, but we gained valuable feedback over the break, and it allowed us to test payments in real-world situations in parts of the country with spotty phone service. We even sent Debut overseas, and I’m delighted to report that it performed beautifully.
Preparing Debut Cards for delivery 💌
We’re excited to share that our packaging is ready! Here’s a peek at what you can expect to see arriving in your letterbox when you order a physical card from Debut.
We wanted to celebrate this moment by including a fun, colourful design as exciting as the experience inside. Security measures on Debut cards mean your account is protected from package thieves and prying eyes.
We want Debut to be a footprint-free bank. As an online-only organisation, we’re already making a smaller impact than most, but our interactions offline are an opportunity for us to consider still more ways to keep our impact down. Working closely with our printing partner, we’ve designed a clever packaging solution that’s tamper-proof, satisfying-to-open and considerate of our impact on the planet. Our envelopes are composed of a mixture of recycled paper and sources certified and controlled by the Forestry Sustainability Council. It’s a super small step, but if we’re going to have envelopes, they might as well be done right.
Creating something new doesn’t just happen. It takes focus and energy, and in the case of building Debut with our customers, it takes a lot of help. Thanks for helping us get this far. Let’s have an incredible 2024. See you soon!
