We’re super excited to tell you all about our debit cards and some of the things we’re doing to improve payments.

Meet Debut Ora Card

Meet Debut Ora Card 💳

Debut Ora Card is your payment card for everyday things. It’s ready to use within minutes of setting up your Debut account using just your phone. Ora Card is also ready for the real world with a companion card you can hold in your hand, dispatched to you shortly after sign-up.

Swipe, slip, tap or type to pay
at over 35 million locations.

Debut Ora Card is powered by Mastercard™, so you can use it to pay confidently and securely at card and contactless terminals or with Apple Pay and Google Wallet at over 35 million locations around the ao 🌏 or online.

So shiny!

Debut Ora Card comes in two sleek, minimalist looks we call Blanc and Hebe. Both cards feature a reflective holographic logo on the front and playful Debut shapes with a pearlescent coating on the back.

Last year, we held a competition asking people in the Debut community to share and vote on what they most wanted to see on Debut’s upcoming cards. The winning entry proposed the inclusion of Braille, as some modern cards have phased this out. We’ve made sure to include both a debit notch and the letter D in Braille to aid people with blindness or low vision to identify their Ora card in their wallet or purse and to hold it the right way when making a payment.

Get more mileage from your money.

Money doesn’t grow on trees! Keep more of your hard-earned cash when you use Debut Ora Card. Whether you’re travelling overseas or paying in another currency online, Debut provides one of the industry’s most competitive conversion rates, powered by Mastercard™ – and that’s it. You’ll just pay for the conversion, and nothing else. Debut saves you about 2% in foreign exchange fees, compared with other cards, because we don’t charge any. Want to see what other fees we don’t charge?

To put that into perspective, a day trip from London to Cambridge, including lunch and a snack, could cost you $4.97 NZD less when you travel with Debut, compared with other cards that charge foreign exchange fees. That’s about the cost of a small flat white back home, just in fees alone. And it adds up.
